Trinity Solar Review & Feedback

Company Overview

Trinity Solar is one of the largest privately held residential solar companies in the United States, with a strong presence along the East Coast. Founded in 1994, the company has grown from a small, family-owned electrical business into one of the leading names in solar installation. Trinity is particularly well-known for its community-focused approach, combining solar installations with job creation and charitable efforts.

In the solar industry, Trinity stands out for its longevity. Having operated for decades, it offers more stability than many newer solar companies. With tens of thousands of installations completed, it is recognized as a top installer in several East Coast markets. Trinity emphasizes customer savings, local service, and reliable system performance, and it markets itself as a trustworthy, established choice for homeowners seeking solar energy.

Services Offered

Trinity Solar provides a comprehensive range of services focused on residential solar solutions. These include:

  • Solar Panel Installation – Complete residential solar energy systems designed to reduce or eliminate utility costs.

  • System Design & Engineering – Customized solar layouts tailored to each home’s roof and energy needs.

  • Financing Options – Cash purchases, solar loans, leases, and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

  • Maintenance & Monitoring – Ongoing monitoring services to ensure the system is functioning as expected.

  • Roof Work – Some basic roof repair and replacement services are offered in preparation for solar installation.

  • Community Impact – Trinity invests heavily in local communities, creating jobs and funding charitable projects.

Unlike some competitors, Trinity does not have a large focus on battery storage or advanced add-ons like EV chargers. Its primary focus remains solar panels and financing structures.

Pros of Trinity Solar

In this Trinity Solar review, several strong advantages stand out for homeowners:

  1. Experience & Longevity – Over 25 years in business provides confidence that the company will remain available for long-term support.

  2. Community-Oriented – Trinity actively invests in the communities it serves, which resonates with many customers.

  3. Flexible Financing – Options for purchase, loans, leases, and PPAs make solar accessible to a wide range of homeowners.

  4. Large Installation Base – Tens of thousands of completed projects demonstrate scale and expertise.

  5. Local Presence – Strong service coverage in East Coast states provides more personalized service compared to some national competitors.

  6. Professional Installations – Many customers give positive feedback about installation crews being courteous and efficient.

Cons of Trinity Solar

Every solar company has its challenges, and customer feedback on Trinity highlights a few areas of concern:

  1. Customer Service Variability – Some homeowners report difficulty getting timely updates or responses after installation.

  2. Delays in Installation – Like many solar companies, Trinity has occasional delays in permitting and activation.

  3. Warranty Coverage – The specifics of workmanship warranties are not always clear, and some customers feel misled about what is covered.

  4. Aggressive Sales Approach – A portion of customer feedback mentions pushy or overly persistent sales tactics.

  5. Limited Battery Options – Compared to competitors that emphasize energy storage, Trinity’s offerings are less robust in this area.

  6. Inconsistent Experience by Location – Service quality may depend on the local office or crew, leading to mixed reviews.

Positive Feedback

Positive customer feedback about Trinity Solar often centers around professionalism, savings, and community involvement. Homeowners frequently highlight:

  • Reduced Energy Costs – Many customers are pleased with the noticeable drop in electricity bills after installation.

  • Friendly Installation Teams – Crews are often described as polite, respectful, and efficient on the job site.

  • Established Company Reputation – Customers appreciate working with a long-standing company that feels stable compared to newer solar firms.

  • Financing Flexibility – Multiple options allow more households to access solar regardless of their financial situation.

  • Community Engagement – Trinity’s reputation for supporting local initiatives adds to customer trust.

Overall, customers who had smooth installations tend to be highly satisfied with both system performance and cost savings.

Negative Feedback

Negative feedback in Trinity Solar reviews tends to focus on communication and customer service. Common complaints include:

  • Slow Response Times – Some customers report difficulty getting answers when contacting the company about system issues.

  • Delays in Project Completion – Permitting and activation can take longer than expected, leaving homeowners frustrated.

  • Warranty Confusion – A lack of clarity around what is and isn’t covered by warranties leads to misunderstandings.

  • Sales Pressure – Certain reviews describe sales representatives as pushy, making customers feel rushed into decisions.

  • Follow-Up Support Issues – While the installation itself may be smooth, some customers feel abandoned when trying to resolve post-installation concerns.

Although these negatives are not universal, they do appear frequently enough in feedback to be worth noting for prospective customers.

Trinity Solar primarily serves the East Coast of the United States, with a strong presence in the following states:

  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • Florida
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey
  • New York

Final Thoughts

This Trinity Solar review demonstrates that the company is a well-established and reputable option for homeowners in the East Coast solar market. Its longevity, community involvement, and flexible financing make it a popular choice for many households. Customers often appreciate the professionalism of installation crews and the financial savings that come with switching to solar.

At the same time, Trinity is not without its challenges. Customer service issues, delays, and warranty confusion are recurring themes in feedback. The experience can vary depending on location and sales representatives, which means potential customers should carefully review their contracts and ask detailed questions before signing.

In summary:

  • Strengths: Stability, experience, financing options, community engagement, professional installations.

  • Weaknesses: Customer service variability, delays, warranty clarity, and occasional pushy sales tactics.

  • Best For: Homeowners on the East Coast seeking an established company with a long history and flexible financing.

I have been waiting for approximately 3 months for trinity to turn my system on. I have asked on numerous occasions what the hold up is. They tell me they are doing something to their internal system and to be patient. I had my inspection shortly after install which was February 28 I am really getting frustrated. I have no idea why I’m being held up . If they need to do. Upgrades fine but I shouldn’t have to wait. I hope no one else has to go through this. This is just a beware review
